#3- Brief Concept Plan

This is a simple concept plan outline of what I want the documentary to look like, noting is set in stone (this will most likely change) being that a documentary doesn't truly follow a "storyboard," and this is just the beginning phase of the documentaries making.

"NOT TITLED" CONCEPT PLAN

First Half:

• Establishing shot on Elliana's house (location card)
• Cut to: A sit down interview of Elliana in her home (name card)(this will introduce the audience to Elliana, the main focus of the documentary)
• This will feature her answering questions like: "Tell me a little about yourself." "How old where you when you realized you wanted to pursue a future of musical theatre?" "How did you break into the world of musical theatre?" "What way your first show and how did it make you feel?" "How do you like the University of Tampa and their theatre department?"
• A question like "What is your upcoming show?" (if she knows) can be used as a great transition into second half.
• These questions will give more in detail information of Elliana to the audience.
• There will also be a sit down interview simultaneously with Elliana's mom. (Name card)(The shots will cut back and forth between her interview and Elliana's interview)
• This will feature her answering questions like: "How was Elliana as a child (musically related)?" "When did you realize that musical theatre made her happy?" "How does she like the University of Tampa and their theatre department?" "What do you believe your daughters future will look like?"
• During these interviews there will be clips of Elliana on stage/singing/acting to make it not just interview based.

Second Half:

• Cut to: Establishing shots (quick sequence of downtown Tampa/outside of University of Tampa)(location card)
• Behind the scenes of Elliana getting ready for her show. (Include raw handheld footage and quick interview will Elliana)
• Ask her what she will be preforming, what went into preparing for this show and how she is feeling.
• Footage of her on stage preforming to end the documentary.

This concept plan is a basic detailed visualization of what I want the five minutes of documentary styled filming to look like. This will be a tool to help me when filming.
